The Kings Field Pant is the cotton-canvas listing with briar overlays. It is not the separately named XKG Field Pant. Freyr uses a nylon/polyester/spandex blend with four-way stretch. That identity and construction distinction is more useful than treating both as interchangeable outdoor trousers. The brush-work and warm-walking shortlist includes a different starting point when a warm walking day matters more than brush contact.
Brush contact makes the Field evidence relevant
Kyle described long walking days through brush, and Dennis specifically reported blackberry use. Those accounts support investigating the overlay design for vegetation contact. They do not establish puncture-proof construction or a guaranteed service life. Freyr’s movement reports come from a different use emphasis: Doug described bending and crawling with layers, while Dale used his pair for work.
| Decision point | Kings Field Pant | XKG Freyr |
|---|---|---|
| Listed fabric | 100% cotton canvas; overlay composition unspecified | 65% nylon / 24% polyester / 11% spandex |
| Listed garment weight | 26 oz | 15.5 oz |
| Storage | Two hand and two rear pockets | Zippered thigh and rear storage |
| Owner caution | Several waist/length complaints | Pocket pilling and fly-appearance complaints |
The weights lack a common size basis. Neither the blend nor the weight proves faster drying in the field; no matched drying test was captured.
Fit can eliminate the brush option
Douglas reported extensive walking but found his usual waist size tight. Brian’s repeated comments describe the same sizing problem and count as one account. Dan described a shortfall in waist and inseam. These reports justify measuring the delivered Field Pant, not prescribing a universal size increase. On Freyr, Kevin found the legs large; its movement praise does not mean the cut suits everyone.
