Choose Kings Camo pants by the chart for the exact model and length option, then check how the whole garment fits. A waist number is only one part of the decision. Kings explicitly says measurements may differ between products and directs shoppers to the chart on each product page. Official sizing guidance.
Keep waist size and inseam separate
On the Preacher 2.0 listing, Short 30–40, Regular 30–44 and Tall 32–42 describe available waist-size ranges within each length category. They do not state the inseam measurement. Do not turn the first number into an assumed leg length.
The selected Ridge description separately lists a 32-inch Regular inseam and a 35-inch Tall inseam. Use those as listing-specific information, not a universal chart for XKG pants. A retailer chart or older garment may differ; confirm the exact offer when information conflicts.
Check your measurements before choosing a size
- Record the full model name, including 2.0 where applicable, plus the color and length option you intend to buy.
- Open that product’s size chart. Establish whether it lists body measurements or garment measurements; do not compare those as though they were interchangeable.
- Measure your waist where you normally wear the pants, following the chart’s tape-tension instructions. For inseam, follow its stated crotch-to-hem method. GOHUNT’s measurement instructions illustrate why the measurement method matters.
- Check whether your waist and preferred inseam are actually offered together. A Tall label is not a promise that every waist size is available.
- If the chart is unclear, ask the retailer for the garment waist, inseam and thigh measurements for that exact size before ordering.
Do not solve every fit problem by sizing up
A larger waist may give more thigh room, but it can create excess material elsewhere. Tyler Asnicar’s historical Preacher 2.0 account describes that tradeoff. It is a reason to check the cut, not a universal instruction to buy larger.
For Ridge, Kings recommends moving up a waist size when between sizes on the selected listing. Treat that as model-specific advice, then check the chart. Conflicting owner fit reports mean that your old pair is a useful reference, not a guarantee. Ridge listing.
Run an indoor fit check
During an indoor try-on, wear your intended base layer and boots. Check standing, sitting, a high step and kneeling. Pay attention to pulling through the seat and thighs, waistband pressure and where the hem falls. These are practical fit checks, not a claim that either model will suit every body shape.
For the Preacher, check movement with the pads installed before deciding whether to remove them. For the Ridge, try the pockets with the small items you normally carry. Keep tags and packaging intact until you understand the seller’s current return conditions.
Your ordering decision
Order when the model, waist measurement, length and layer allowance agree. Pause when the waist fits but the legs bind, or when two charts describe different inseams for the same offer. Resolve that conflict with the seller rather than making an expensive guess.
If you are still choosing the garment rather than the size, the Ridge versus Preacher comparison explains the feature tradeoff. The Ridge review and Preacher 2.0 review keep the individual fit accounts in context.
