Windstorm’s elastic waist and Paramount’s built-in belt create different fitting experiences. Choose the pant that works over the clothes you actually wear; there is no requirement to match the jacket model.

Do not apply one sizing correction to both
Brightman found Windstorm very roomy. The Paramount manufacturer guidance instead warns of a small waist. These are different kinds of evidence—one wearer’s account and a current brand instruction—but both argue against blindly copying a familiar size label.
Try the closures in a seated position
A shell can feel acceptable standing and become awkward when the waistband bends. Sit in the complete outfit, then rise and step up. Check crotch position and knee movement as well as the waist. A belt cannot remove excessive rise, and stretch cannot guarantee enough layering space.
For the opening sequence, inspect the actual garment controls. The fit guide helps check boots, hems and pocket access before the return window closes.
