Choose a Delta Duffel around the clothes you need to transport, not the largest available liter number. The three sizes differ substantially in both footprint and empty weight.
| Size | Dimensions L × W × H | Volume | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Medium | 23 × 11 × 11 in | 46 L | 1.85 lb |
| Large | 30 × 15 × 13 in | 96 L | 2.13 lb |
| X-Large | 34 × 17 × 15 in | 142 L | 3.3 lb |
Use the bulky layer as the starting point
- Assemble the actual coat, bibs, boots or spare layers you intend to pack; do not assume a review describes the same load.
- Check the packed arrangement against the listed dimensions, leaving room to close the zipper without forcing it.
- Consider where the bag must fit during travel and how you will carry the filled weight.
- Choose the smallest version that meets that arrangement, rather than filling unused room just because it exists.
Matt found his bag larger than expected, while Ethan likes folding the empty bag into its sleeve. The pooled comments do not reliably identify each owner’s purchased size, so they cannot guarantee that Medium holds an eight-day clothing load.
If the bag is also going to the stand, read the fabric-noise account. A size that fits the clothes can still be the wrong fabric for the final approach.
