The useful first output after a tear is a clear record of the damage. Scott’s Expedition Pant account combines a small knee tear after contact with rock, favorable opinions about the pants, and proposed patch ideas. Only the tear and its circumstances are observations; the proposed adhesives are not verified repair instructions.
Copy these fields into a repair request
| Field | Record |
|---|---|
| Garment identity | Exact model, label details and approximate purchase date |
| Damage location | Panel and position relative to seams or zippers |
| Size and appearance | Approximate dimensions; photographs outside and, if accessible without opening seams, inside |
| What happened | The event you observed, without guessing the failure mechanism |
| Other effects | Visible escaping fill, damaged stitching or affected fastenings |
| Existing guidance | Care label and any manufacturer repair or warranty instructions |
Keep the questions separate from the facts
- Does this exact shell, coating and filled panel need a repair service?
- If a patch is appropriate, which material and preparation method are compatible?
- Does the repair affect the garment’s water resistance or other care instructions?
Avoid cutting, gluing or opening the garment before the appropriate method and any relevant return or warranty conditions are understood. A repair that worked on a different woven trouser is not proof of compatibility here.
The Expedition Pant review retains both parts of that account. Send the record first; choose a method only after the exact material and repair have been addressed.
